Having a grand old time listening to The Cars debut album, and ended up wandering around (as you do) on t'internet, looking at old photos of the band on Last.fm. One in particular, from the insert for Candy-0 I think, brought back some real memories.
Maneki Neko tattoo
Mister Steve Byrne gave me a new tattoo this weekend. You can see him there in the background. It's a Maneki Neko, literally "beckoning cat" but more commonly called the "lucky cat", a common Japanese sculpture, often found in stores or other commercial establishments. Generally it's believed the right paw raised brings money and the left hand raised brings customers, or people. I have loved these cats for years, and when my cat Pearl died I decided to get a tattoo of a Maneki Neko with a pearl necklace to remember her by. Photo by Julie.
